Bond graph modeling of heat and humidity budgets of biosphere 2

چکیده
Biosphere 2 is a closed ecosystem located near Tucson, Arizona, designed for studying the interactions between different biological species among each other and with their materially closed controlled environment, taking into account the limited resources that such an environment provides. Energy considerations play a central role in how these interactions play out. To this end, bond graph models were designed that enable the researcher to better understand the nature of these interactions, hopefully offering some insight into the much larger ecosystem of planet

Simulation of Heat and Humidity Budget of Biosphere 2 without Its Air Conditioning
The main goal of this study 1 was the development of a dynamic model that represents the thermal behavior of the complex ecological system of Biosphere 2. In this paper, a model that captures the thermal behavior of the ecological system in a non{controlled (i.e., passive) environment is presented. The bond graph methodology was used for modeling this highly complex system. The object{oriented ...
متن کاملCoupling of Integrated Biosphere Simulator to Regional Climate
A description of the coupling of Integrated Biosphere Simulator (IBIS) to Regional Climate Model version 3 (RegCM3) is presented. IBIS introduces several key advantages to RegCM3, most notably vegetation dynamics, the coexistence of multiple plant functional types in the same grid cell, more sophisticated plant phenology, plant competition, explicit modeling of soil/plant biogeochemistry, and a...
متن کاملOn Second Atom-Bond Connectivity Index
The atom-bond connectivity index of graph is a topological index proposed by Estrada et al. as ABC (G) uvE (G ) (du dv 2) / dudv , where the summation goes over all edges of G, du and dv are the degrees of the terminal vertices u and v of edge uv. In the present paper, some upper bounds for the second type of atom-bond connectivity index are computed.
متن کاملEstimation of salinity, heat and buoyancy budgets of the inflow coastal current into the Persian Gulf from the Strait of Hormuz
An analytical model for a coastal boundary current was used to investigate heat and salt budget of exchange flows in the Persian Gulf as a marginal sea. Coastal boundary currents exchange heat and freshwater with the mosphere and the offshore waters. As heat and salinity fluxes caused by air-sea interaction and eddy activities, different temperature and salinity associated with boundary current...
متن کاملNelder-Mead algorithm optimization and Galerkin’s method thermal performance analysis of circular porous fins with various profiles in fully wet conditions
The main objective of this research is to analyze optimization and the thermal performance of circular porous fins with four different profiles, rectangular, convex, triangular and concave under fully wet conditions. In this research, a linear model was used for the relationship between humidity and temperature. Also, modeling is assumed one-dimensional and the temperature changes only in the d...
